Creating Design Systems

This case study showcases the creation of a central design system for GPAS, a genomics platform for infectious disease detection and monitoring. It highlights how I structured a flexible, scalable, and consistent UX framework that supports multiple products, workflows, and user types, while enabling rapid prototyping and iterative product development.

The Challenge

GPAS serves diverse users — scientists, public health agencies, and internal teams — each with different workflows. The goal was a unified system that could support multiple pipelines, enable rapid prototyping, and maintain a seamless user experience.
